100th Post and Giveaway!!!

I can't believe that my 100th post is finally here! I am SO excited and I have had so much fun posting all of these recipes. With this post I have a confession to make...until recently I was completely anti-cupcake. I used to think that cupcakes were seriously overrated and I thought if I wanted cake that I'd rather just have a slice of cake. However, I am happy to say that I have been converted and now I absolutely LOVE cupcakes! The thing that makes cupcakes so great is not only can they be incredibly delicious but you can also have so much fun decorating and personalizing them for any specific occasion. My mom and I are currently in the process of planning some amazing cupcakes for a baby shower and we are having so much fun doing it and I cannot wait to see and taste the final results!

So....to celebrate this 100th post I thought I would do a cupcake theme and giveaway this fabulous cupcake recipe book and these adorable cupcake liners. To enter the giveaway all you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me either what your favorite recipe is that you've made from this blog and why it's your favorite or what you want to make from this blog and why. You can leave comments all the way up until midnight Thursday night and then I will post the winner Friday morning. I will be using random.org to randomly pick the winner. I am so excited for this giveaway and I want to thank all of you for reading my blog and for your sweet comments!

To be honest I haven't tried any recipe here. Just found your blog from facebook. I'm thinking I need to try those peanut butter cupcakes though and it looks like I need to follow this blog!

Yay for giveaways! That is so legit! My favorite recipe are the chicken crockpot tacos. Not only were they SO easy (and fast for a crockpot recipe), but since there are only two of us we used the leftovers to make a casserole and ate that for dinner the next night. Very good.

I'm really excited to see what cupcake creations you post because in May, my daughter is turning one and I am doing a cupcake themed birthday party with all of her cousins. (The book would certainly come in handy! I'm sending good thoughts to random.org!)

Love your blog! Thanks!

I dont think there is a recipe on here that I have tried and didnt love.My favorite is the Chicken Cordon Blue. It is such a simple recipe but yet I feel so domestic when I make it. I love your recipes because they call for every day ingredients that you have in the kitchen. They are so delicious. Keep em coming Valerie!

It's hard to pick a favorite because every recipe I've made (or tasted because you made it for me)has been wonderful. But I guess my all time favorite is the Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. I've made those cookies so many times over the years that I have the recipe memorized and it's been my most requested recipe from friends and family. Your photography is beautiful! I love your blog and I love being your mom!!!

Is it cheating to say that I've made the Peanut Butter Bars? Probably.

As I told you, I rarely cook/bake lately, but Ashton and I did peruse your blog the other day, and we are definitely planning to make the MilkyWay Peanut Butter cookies in the very near future. What can I say, we like peanut butter?!

Love your blog Val!

Vanilla Almond Cupcakes with Raspberry Cream Cheese Frosting! I loved it so much i made it into one big cake for my birthday...and a dog ate half of it. But that is a story for another time. Needless to say everyone in the family (including the dogs) thought we died and gone to heaven it was so delicious!

PS- i love the new look of your blog...so fresh and cute! Did you design it?

Okay, I have to make another comment after reading the others and agree that the Peanut Butter Bars were to die for, although I didn't make them myself I just ate half of the pan you made when I was there last time.

I have to many favorites but one of my dinner recipe that I have made and love so much is your Sweet & Sour Chicken. It is just so perfect and simply to make. I would have never tried to make something like this if it weren't for you. My favorite dessert recipe that I have made is the Chocolate rollo cookies. I love chocolate and caramel so this recipe is awesome.
Thanks so much for doing this blog, it has given me more recipes and ideas for dinner and of course desserts. Love it!!

I was really happy to see "Stay-a-Bed Stew" on your blog. That has been a family favorite for years. The original recipe came from a little book called "The I Hate to Cook Book." We have modified it to our taste and it surely has been well used through the years. You have some delicious things to try.

I made Stay a bed stew for Sunday's after church dinner, and OH my goodness!!! My three teenage boys, two teenage daughters, (Third lives out of town and missed it) and my hungry man all couldn't get enough of it and told me to add it to the top of the list of family favorites!

Valerie,
Russell showed me this blog and pointed out a few of the foods he liked that you had brought to work--it's a fantastic blog. My favorite is the Enchilada casserole. We always have the ingredients on hand and it is so simple, which is great because, I'll be honest, I do not enjoy cooking. Anyway, thanks for sharing these recipes.

Val-I just have to say thanks for posting recipes! I love getting good recipes to add to my collection. I love your pork recipes the most. I've never been much of a pork cooker. I'm a chicken fan. But I like the pork recipes you've posted and am slowly being converted to liking pork more. Thanks for taking to time to blog!

Tran said...

I am so glad you have been converted to cupcakes.. It's my all time fav dessert cause you can just grab one and eat it without feeling so guilty. Love your blog and love how simple your recipes are.. I have tried a few already but will always like to eat the rollo cookies cause Jeff likes to take cookies to work.

HI! I have loved every recipe that I have tried of yours! It is great to know I can try a recipe and that it will turn out great! We loved the pork, the chicken teriyaki, and peanut butter cookies, to name a few! Thanks for sharing all the great recipes! Give Ty a squeeze for me..he is super cute!

(ps...my recipe project you asked about is not too exciting...i just have a TON of Bon Appetit and Gourmet magazines and they were clogging my recipe cabinet, so I am going through each one, taking out the recipes I would like to try, and putting them in a binder so that they are more organized. I found super cute recipe binders from C.R. Gibson. :) )
